A Day Out in Aintree
As well as the quality racing on offer throughout the year, including the world-famous Randox Grand National Festival every April, the Old Roan Chase in October and the Becher Chase in December, Aintree Racecourse and the surrounding area plays host to a number of different activities for all the family to enjoy. From trying your hand at golf to taking part in the Merseyside 10k run, there are plenty of reasons to visit Aintree for a fun-filled day out.
One of the most anticipated days in Liverpool’s social calendar; Aintree Ladies Day at The Randox Grand National Festival in April sees colour, fashion and style celebrated as we search for the winner of the Style Award: the racegoer crowned to be Aintree’s most stylish. Open to all ages and men and women alike, this is a celebration of individuality, creativity and high fashion.
Aintree Golf Centre
Located close the centre of the course, Aintree Golf Course gives you the opportunity to test your swing on this 9-hole course. If you want to try something new, give Footgolf a go. This new craze is perfect for the whole family and is a great way to get into golf without any prior experience!
An Evening at the Races
For two nights during the summer, Aintree Racecourse is transformed into a spectacular music venue for everyone to enjoy. Playing host to artists such as Tom Jones and Deacon Blue in 2016, these summer nights at the races always feature well-known acts that are bound to get the party started on the course and in the stands. The summer of 2017 will see Kaiser Chiefs and Jess Glynne take to the stage at Aintree Racecourse. Before the performances start, concert goers will be given a taste of racing too as the runners and riders compete on the track in a awe-inspiring six-card race.
Merseyside 10k- October
Test your fitness levels in early October at the annual Merseyside 10k Run. Take to the track for this great day out which features the iconic sights of Aintree racecourse. Not just for adults either, the racecourse also hosts a Toddler Trot which allows little ones to get involved in the fun around a 400m course. All participants will receive a medal, goodie bag and a t-shirt as well as being able to take advantage of complimentary massages and get snapped by the official photographer.
